Parasites are actually more common than we think, and can wreak havoc in your digestive system.

If you have tried countless approaches to repair your gut and relieve your symptoms and feel like you’re going around in circles, addressing parasites could be the missing piece of the puzzle.

Learn 14 signs you may have parasites.

This smoothie contains several powerful anti-parasitic foods to hit the parasites from many different angles.

Warning: This smoothie can be quite powerful.

I recommend starting with a few sips to test your reaction. It is also best to start on a day when you will be home, just in case!

Who should NOT drink this smoothie:

  • Pregnant women: Papain enzymes have been known to trigger miscarriage, so DO NOT drink this smoothie while pregnant.
  • Woman trying to conceive: Papain may also have an effect on fertility, so it is best avoided if you are trying to conceive.
  • People with known allergy to latex or papaya: Some people have a strong allergy to papaya. Test a small amount first if unsure.

  • 1 tsp papaya seeds (preferably from an organic, non-GMO papaya): Papaya seeds contain a unique alkaloid called carpaine which has been shown to have strong anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic properties. In addition, the enzyme papain works by dissolving the protective coating that protects the parasites. This makes papaya seeds an absolute all-stars for expelling parasites from the body, including the difficult to treat blastocystis hominis.

  • 1/2 small or 1/5 of a big papaya, preferably about half green. Green papayas contain more of the digestive enzyme papain.
  • ¼ of a medium-sized pineapple, using the core as well. The core contains the highest concentration of the digestive enzyme bromelain.

Papain and bromelain can have an anti-parasitic effect and improve the intestinal environment.

  • ¼ cup pepitas/pumpkin seeds: Pumpkin seeds are particularly good for paralysing worms in the lower intestine.

Top tip:

Take 2-4 capsules of Para-1 about 1 hour after your smoothie to ‘scrub’ the paralysed worms and escort them out of your body.

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil: The lauric acid in coconuts is converted to the compound monolaurin in the digestive tract, which can help rid the body of protozoa, ringworm and giardia parasites.
  • About 1 cup of coconut water. You can also use plain water or milk of your choice.
  • 6 fresh cloves: Cloves are said to be especially good at getting rid of parasite eggs.

Blend all ingredients together in a blender. Add some ice if you prefer your smoothie to be very cold.

To get the best anti-parasitic action, it is best to drink the smoothie on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning or before bed.

Since some parasites are believed to be paralysed by a treatment rather than killed outright, it is also beneficial to take it with a natural laxative like Bowel Mover to expel the parasites /worms before they can recover. Coffee enemas would be another great option.

For a complete parasite cleanse, I recommend the following:

  1. Have the smoothie daily for 14 days.
  2. Stop for 1 week.
  3. Repeat for another 14 days.
  4. As a maintenance and to make sure you address parasites at every life cycle, continue to have the smoothie 2 days/week for 3-6 months.
